The Lady’s Division of the Benin Golf Section has received high praise for its dedication to mentoring young female golfers and fostering a spirit of inclusivity within the sport.
During a recent engagement at the Government House in Benin City, state officials welcomed the golfers and commended their efforts in using golf as a tool for physical fitness, mental resilience, and social bonding. The meeting spotlighted the group’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of female athletes through mentorship and positive role modeling.
Emphasis was laid on the value of experienced leaders guiding the youth a principle rooted in tradition and with the power to shape future communities. The visiting golfers were also encouraged to continue aligning their efforts with state-led initiatives focused on women and youth empowerment.
In response, the Leader of the Lady’s Division, Mrs. Stella Ajayi, expressed appreciation for the warm reception, highlighting the synergy between golf and broader social development goals. She emphasized golf’s role in promoting unity, discipline, and wellness among women.
Mrs. Ajayi also extended an invitation to the upcoming 30th Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS) Ladies Open Tournament and called for strengthened partnerships to support ongoing empowerment programmes across Edo State.
